Runners’ Expo and Packet Pick-Up

Tree lines streets make the Albany Marathon course scenic and shadyFriday, February 29, 2008
4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The RiverFront Resource Room, located in Downtown Albany at 125 Pine Avenue, next door to the RiverQuarium. Runners must have a photo ID available to pick up their packet.

All runners' packets containing your race number and t-shirt, Championship Rental Chip, and other items MUST be picked up on Friday, February 29.

A Free Admission ticket to the Downtown Albany Mardi Gras Celebration will be included in race packets for each participating runner, walker or wheeler. Mardi Gras is an all-day event that kicks off in downtown at noon and features vendors, crafters and bands until midnight.

The Runners' Expo, offers booths and interactive centers for enjoyment for the marathon & half marathon participants and their families. Marathon participants are affluent, educated, active individuals. This is a goal-oriented group including a significant number of first time marathoners from Georgia and the surrounding states with an estimated demographic breakout of 59% female and 41% male and more than 40% boasting a household income nearly double the national average.

Jeff Galloway Running School
Friday, February 29 from 2-5 PM

Jeff Galloway, a 1972 Olympian who ran the 10,000 meters and was an alternate on the marathon team will be conducting a pre-race Running School on Friday, February 29th from 2:00 until 5:00 pm.
He is the author of more than a dozen books on running, including Galloway's Book on Running, the best-selling running book in North America, and a monthly column for Runner's World magazine.

    • Sample Schedule:
      Individual Running Form Analysis & Advice
      Sessions include Running Faster, Training for YOUR Goal, Nutrition, Motivation, Fatburning, Building Endurance and more! Questions are encouraged.
    • All Participants receive:
      - A copy of one of Jeff's books, Email access to Jeff afterward, Personalized attention
    • Fee: $99 / Half Price for Jeff Galloway Training Program members. Contact carol.miller@jeffgalloway.com.
      Registration limited to ensure individual attention.



    Race Timing:
    The Marathon will use a chip timing system. Timing chips will be distributed at the Expo or with your runner packet. Runners may use their own timing chip. However, your chip serial number must be included with your registration.

    Remember: NO CHIP, NO FINISHING TIME! Please make sure that you test your chip at packet pick up! Timing chips provided by the Marathon must be returned after crossing the finish line. There will be a charge for non-returned chips.

    THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION OR PACKET PICKUP AVAILABLE FOR ANY EVENTS.
