Jeff Galloway Running School Friday, February 29 from 2-5 PM
Jeff Galloway, a 1972 Olympian who ran the 10,000 meters and was an alternate on the marathon team will be conducting a pre-race Running School on Friday, February 29th from 2:00 until 5:00 pm. He is the author of more than a dozen books on running, including Galloway's Book on Running, the best-selling running book in North America, and a monthly column for Runner's World magazine.

Marathon weekend provides plenty of action and activities for downtown Albany
 Downtown Albany is celebrating Mardi Gras! A Free Admission ticket will be given to each participating runner, walker or wheeler in their registration packet. Mardi Gras is an all day event that kicks off in downtown at noon and features bands until midnight. Vendors, crafters, etc.
Georgia Cup Cycling Series.
The Downtown area is also hosting the third annual Georgia Cup Cycling Series. The time trial criteriums start at 8 am, in front of the city/county office building on Pine, just one block from the Mardi Gras festivities. The last leg of the marathon route will allow an up-close look at cyclist competing in a fast-paced criterion.
The Georgia Cup Cycling Series races from 30 to 100-miles will take place in nearby Lee County.
